Joe to the Rescue?
On Monday morning Former US Senate parliamentarian Robert Dove was on MSNBC discussing history of reconciliation. Believe me when I say it was not exactly riveting.
However, there was an interesting tidbit Dove volunteered: Vice President Biden, as president of the Senate, could preside over the reconciliation process and make the decision about whether or not something is a budgetary item, even overruling Senate parliamentarian Alan Frumin. This could mean that the Vice President (and by extension the White House) could be empowered to make a call on what is and isn’t allowed under a reconciliation vote. You will recall that reconciliation votes can only be done for legislative questions that have budget ($$$) implications.
As Dove put it: “It is the decision of the vice president whether or not to play a role here.”
this is totally unamerican at best treasonous!!

Joe the decider! What a scary thought. No wonder that a former Vice President said the job wasn’t worth warm spit. The GOP must fight any attempt to let a minority mind-set determine what the majority of people believe are opposed to.

If there was ever an attempt to the fix into a contest or whatever, this would be it. Joe Biden is not only not qualified to run an operation like this he would be completely a bias participant and Americans will not fall for it. Only Obama could be this stupid to allow this process to continue. If they jam this down Americans throats , it will be jammed right back in November.

If they say it’s ok and it fits their agenda that is all that matters. It will be interesting to see how Biden handles this and even if he can get the facts straight.

A mandate to buy is not a budgetary concern. It is a constitutional law concern.
If this tactic is utilized we are no longer in a Democracy, plain and simple. Beyond this, our President is supposed to be a Consitutional Professor (goodness knows he constantly professes something or other to us) and the use of retaliation is for budgetary items only, which this is NOT. I feel like I’ve died and gone to another country - and I’d like to go home!
He’ll be gone in three more short years. Then we can start repairing the damage he has done.
I can’t possibly imagine the Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, presiding over the reconciliation process; it goes well beyond treasonous, it is absolutely ridiculous. When he ultimately has to make a decision whose side does one think he will favor.

Make no mistake about it…the future of our country and liberty is at stake with these members of the poliburo. Biden is only one of the dunces that have never had an original thought and follows the current trend. The senate members not only prostitute the Constitution but their own rules. We need a clean sweep every election.
If, in fact, the VP may exercise that authority, he shouldn’t do it. Not only would it be disingenuous - stretching the intent of the procedure - it would be arrogance personified! Americans have made clear our dislike of ObamaCare in any form. Anyone in Congress, the Senate, or the administration who ignores and overrides the well-known wishes of their constituencies does so at their own political peril.

Over 60% of Americans are opposed to the healthcare plan. Congress has less than 20% apporval rating by Americans. If these people performed at a 20% level in the private sector they would be fired. The President’s approval rating has dropped like a rock. The president made a fool of himself, last week. He obviously doesn’t have a clue about facts. This government is the most evil, corrupt government I have seen in my 63 years. Reconciliation is only for “budget” items! Any other use is disingenuous. This is not a budget issue. You don’t get to make up and spin the rules to fit your socialist agenda. You are so blatant as to say that the American people don’t know what’s good for them. You don’t get to make that choice! It became apparent to me some time ago that the best we can hope for with this (Obama) crowd is to slow down their head long rush to “transform America,” a country they dislike at best and one they can make better given their self evident superior intellect, secure in the knowledge that we will all end up applauding what they have dragged us by the scruff of our ignorant necks, kicking and screaming, into. Mount Rushmore will be out classed by some equally prominent edifice with busts of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Andy Stern, heroes of the new millennia.
Don’t laugh!; Pelosi and Reid are that stupid, Stern is Obama’s confidant and Obama is that narcissistic. We need to stop obsessing over what these clowns will do, continue to vociferously harass and plan on how to reverse the damage after November, 2010 because they intend to ignore what they perceive as temporary political damage and jam their agenda through by any means, however devious or unethical.
I find it hard to believe that any profitable business would hire Obama or Biden and yet we the American people voted them in. I realize the media did not tell us the truth and they lied about themselves. The truth is they probably opened the eyes of the American people faster than McCain would have done.
The problem is not Biden or this administration. We Americans need to look at our selves and realize we went to sleep. We let people who do not know our history or our form of government teach our children another history. If we will again learn about our republic we can send these power hungry control freaks back to there tiny world.
