PPF.org wanted to share with you a letter to the editor that caught our eye…especially as the Democrats in the House and Senate are now working to marry their bills behind closed doors.
The question now is which version will prevail: the Senate’s state-by-state health insurance exchange or the House’s version that is the only plan to create a federally mandated and government-controlled exchange?
If the House’s nationalized exchange proposal wins out, Americans will be stuck with a new government bureaucracy that will be run by an appointed Czar-like bureaucrat who will decide what constitutes good health care and who is entitled to it.
The newly anointed (oops, we mean appointed) Czar will have absolute power over what medical services Americans receive, how doctors practice medicine and have the power to dramatically increase waiting times for appointments, tests and new procedures in order to “save the government money” and will only be answerable to a panel of appointed government officials.

Dear Editor:
Look out America, we have a new virus invading our country. It has shown its ugly head in the congressional debates over President Obama’s health care bill. If you can’t get what you want one way then throw a few billions of tax payers dollars at it and everything will be OK.
There is another way to get what you want. Just broker a deal with some sleazy senator for special favors for his/her state and he/she will vote for the health care bill. The city of Washington smells like a lot of rotten pork to me.
I think there is another way to settle this crisis and that is simply to put the question on the ballots in the midterm elections. When a majority of the American people are not in favor of what Congress has to offer then that, I think, is the fair way to get it settled one way or the other. It is our money that is being wasted on this boondoggle of a health care bill.
Our government is too big for its britches now without adding another bureaucratic “czar” to the payroll and wasting a lot more taxpayers money on it.

Obama to promise the world , sun moon and stars during the campaign, and turn around do the opposite now that he is office. It is as though Pelosi is the President. This has to STOP.
Right on, scrap the whole health care bill. Look at what we have, Use some of the money they have wasted to look into the graft with the existing system and fix it. This is one WE THE PEOPLE thats fed up with Washington.
I like the letter by Ernest Coffman in Pittsburg. My question to you is no matter what passes it will be a disaster and what can the new congress and new one third of the senate which will be conservative after we throw out the thieves that are there now? I feel there is a ground swell of tea party voters that will take our country back.

Who gives them the authority to do this? If forcing us to buy health insurance under their terms is not constitutional then why are we letting them do this? I do not understand. There has to be a way to put and end to their powergrabbing. Just a bunch of bullies stealing our lunch money.
I agree that this bill should be voted on by the American people. When it affects our lives so much we should not have it rammed down our throats. Voting would be a fair way to handle this. Another thing we should vote on would be term limits and tort reform. It would be such glee to sit back and watch how lawyers and congressmen and women change their attitudes to their constituents. They would actually start to listen!!!!

Seems like all he does is talk, talk, talk. He does not DO anything. Not that we can tell because everything he is doing, is behind closed doors, in secret with ONLY other Demoncrats, and NOT on C-SPAN which come to think of it is not a bad thing. God, he is so boring! He can call the Cambridge, MA Police Department stupid for a neighborhood incident, but does not recognize the really stupid persons on his Staff including Napalitano, Brennan, Leiter, that other Cabinet gal, Van Jones, Mrs Dunn, her Commie husband, and all most everybody else - geez, he scoured the country to find all the old Commies and really stupid people to work for him. Guess it is a way of making yourself look smart - surround yourself with dummies and losers. One thing for sure is, the next two elections will run many Demoncrats back to where ever they come from and a 1994 Gingrich-style makeover of the worse Congress in HISTORY! will take place. President Obama will have a legacy similar to - and probably worse than - Jimmie Carter, Tricky Dick, and - no - just those two. Some legacy huh, Mr. President?

Oh yeah, one more point. Ben Nelson is not the only Demoncrat Senator to be bought by Reid. Mary L. Landrieu (D) of Louisiana was bought and paid for also, to the tune of $300 billion. The voters of these two states can not be very proud of the lack of morality being shown by the groveling bum-kissing shamelessly greedy capitulation exhibited by these two weaklings. Not that they care. The have the world’s best Medical Health Plan available to them forever … how hypocritically disgusting are they?
I feel like this is spritual warfare. I don’t want to sound like a finatic, but I feel like our only hope is for the Republican party to fast and pray along with every Christian in America. Let Gods will be done. Let him be the one to lead and guid us. His word says,”if his people who are called by his name will humble themselves and pray, He will hear their prayers and heal their land”. I believe God. I know he is! I know nothing is impossible for him. I believe that alot of the things that have happened already are a result of prayers. Alot of things that were suppose to be a secret behind closed doors have come into the light. There have been alot of terrorist attacks that have not turned out as planned. No weapon formed against us will prosper. They will fall into the same traps they set for us. As a Nation we have to stand on Gods word, and believe what it says, EXPECT his WORDS TO COME TO LIFE. You are right on target, scape this so called health care bill. It’s not about health care at all, it’s about controlling us from the cradle to the grave. And taxing us the tax payers to death on Everything from A to Z. If you think you are being taxed enough already, it will get much worse. This is more of a pork bill than health care reform bill, there is no reform at all in both the House and Senate bills. There still will be 35 million without health care, how stupid is that and they still will not be able to afford health care, period. In fact, the health insurance will go up in price, not down, including medications will go up in price, how cost effective is that? Did you know if you don’t have any health insurance you will be fined about $3,000.00 and can get jail time, too? This includes both the employer and employees, which means more job layoffs and businesses who can’t afford to be in business anymore. And the people who vote this coming November 2010 elections for the Democrats who voted for this so called health care bill, need to wake up and smell the coffee, it’s burning on the stove because you are about to get burned big time.
435 Representatives and some 33 Senators are up for election in November. Regardless of nominal party affiliation, fire ‘em ALL except those few who will pledge to work for passage of an amendment to the Constitution incorporating the principle of one the Federalist Papers that any and all laws enacted by Congress shall apply equally to Congress as to the public.
There is no doubt that everything so far has been designed to stir up confusion with the american people. This is one of the biggest mistakes ever. This is not just the presidents doing, just look at all of the ones following along. This is nothing more than greed at the taxpayers expence. By the time election time comes around there won’t be much left to salvage. Just be assured that the people will not forget.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.
To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession..
The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.
However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.
The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives of the American people, and the businesses they own.
The irony is that the Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate health care.
This legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama administration, of all of your personal healthcare, direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.
If you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However, that doesn’t work because since there is nothing in the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without the due process of law.
So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively nullified by this law It doesn’t stop there though.
The 9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;
The 10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.
I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.” If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.
For those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult the source, the US Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

What these Democrates in Congress, the Senate and House don’t understand (or care about) is by ramming this healthcare down our throats that they are destroying the Democrates chances for re-election. Not to mention, they are ruining the chances of future Democrates and their party. Unfortunately, healthcare is not the only usless, money pit of a policy they (Dems) are attempting to ram down our throats. I urge the American people to become active and join a party that upholds the values of OUR America. Don’t let these money hungry, power thirsty, whore mongering politicians re-create OUR America…………………… Shouldn’t these people that are using and\or taking bribs be placed in prison??? You and I would be if we did as they are doing. Example, think of the guy that attempted to brib David Letterman. Those in the Government are NOT above the law!
We need to take back America. What else can we do besides sign petitions, call our congressman and senators and call the White House? It’s great to go to the Tea Parties and other events but it does not seem to get anything accomplished. I know it has done some good, but not enough to stop what is going on. Is it asking to much to have a Leader that listens to the people? That loves America? That is proud of America? That believes in Freedom? That believes that America was founded on Godly principles? I could go on and on and on - but what more can we do?
The politicians DON’T CARE AND DON’T LISTEN to what the American People are saying. They just want to get something/anything through. I have called and wrote many letters to our senators and congressman, but the democrats don’t listen. When our country goes bankrupt they will still blame Bush!!

I just wish that the senators would listen to what the people who are citizens are trying to tell them. It is very big problem with so much dishonest people serving in government. Wouldn’t it be nice to get rid of them all and all the problems they have made with their bills. Get people in who would do away with all those that are making problem bills and look at what the Constitution says and do it not try to under mine it. They makes laws and then are exempt that is not fair.

Tick, Tock, I am afraid it is too late. The bill is all about money and power and the American people are the ones who will suffer. I just can’t believe that this happened so quickly but that was part of the plan. The people in power are ignoring what the American people need to get what they want. I wish that there was something to be done but I don’t feel very optimistic.
The problem with this suggestion is:
They own the votes and the machines that count them.
Their actions are nothing less than crimes against the people.
Why aren’t we arresting them and charging them with treason.
Conviction is a given.
Moderation in everything, including moderation and moderation is not appropriate in this situation.

I just can’t get it through my head what gives these crooked “legislators” the authority to take away medical coverage that I presently enjoy and earned as part of my pension. They might as well walk through my front door and say, “We’re here for your house.” The benefits are there now. I use them. But not for long, eh? To take them away from me strips me of my ability to care for myself. I am a powerless serf of the Dims. I guess I can always beg for my life.
If I fall shoveling snow this year and break a bone, someone will call 911 and I will go to a hospital of my choice within my network. If it is a broken hip, I guess someone will put a pin in it. I will be discharged , come home, and recover. I will pay part of the cost and the Cadillac insurance that I EARNED as part of my PENSION will pay the rest. My life will go on.
If I fall and break a hip after 2013 (I will be medicare eligible by then) I guess they will shove me broken hip and all into a wheelchair and hope I die quickly.
They’ll save money by not having to pay me the social security THAT I NEVER WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE — BUT HAD EXTRACTED FROM MY CHECK BEFORE TAKING A STATE JOB.
Didn’t someone say — right before inaguration day — that some of us are going to have to give up some of our pie so that others can have more?

I totally agree that “We the people!” should have an HONEST vote/voice on this rediculous bill. However, I don’t think that could ever happen with this corrupt congress. They really don’t care what WE think or want. It’s a political game they play and we are non-existent. I never got envolved with politics or politicians because I was too busy working and trying to run a small business with 48 employees. Now I know too much and it just makes me sick.

I’m a simple minded guy. I think Namath is ruining America. I can’t wait to vote him out of office. And I’m gonna start by voting against Democratic congressmen and senators later this year. And I urge EVERYONE else to make this their objective. Eliminating Obama’s filibuster-proof congress is America’s only hope.
