Another Closed Door Meeting
House and Senate leaders are meeting with President Obama today to try to “reconcile their differences” over the direction of health care legislation.
While the so-called “public option” may be dead, government-run health care is alive and well.
Congressional Democrats are working in secret behind closed doors to decide whether to create a massive new federal health care bureaucracy based in Washington. On the table is everything from subsidies to the so-called “Health Choices” super-bureaucracy and Czar-like leader that would have immense power of your health care.
But wait, didn’t the Senate kill government-run kill health care? Didn’t key senators say they would never vote for a bill that put the federal government in control of our health? That’s true. The Senate bill does not have a public plan or a new federal government health insurance exchange.
But the House legislation includes a new national health insurance exchange run from Washington. And as Democrats secretly craft the final bill, many in Washington believe it will include this new federal bureaucracy.
This decision comes at Americans more than ever are dissatisfied with the direction the health care reform debate has taken. Gallup reports that only 37% of Americans think that the President has done a good job handling health reform. While Gallup also found that the public is divided on the final legislation, it looks like Congress is leaning on Obama to bridge the gap between House and Senate plans.
Let’s hope that someone at today’s meeting tells it how it is — Americans don’t want a health care Czar, more government bureaucracy or reform that will only end of ruining the quality of American medicine.
This is such a sick administration, it is unbelievable…… No rules, no constitution, nothing…… How can anyone float with the illegal and for the goverment and not the people tactics that keep happening? Shady, criminal minded hypocrites is what they all are….. They will be held accountable one way or the other for the evil they do!!!
Czars are for Facists & dictators that are not accoutable to voters. This country is a Democracy even if the democratic party does not believe they are accountable to the people since their messiah is president. There is a reason why our past President’s have always governed through Congressionally approved adminstration and there is a reason why Obama is circumventing our constitution to appoint his czars that only report to him. He believes he is above the constitution and checks and balances that were established by our nations great founders

I believe Obama is following Saul Alinsky’s strategy of bringing us so low that we
will be willing to follow them in order to get out of the hole they themselves have
created! It’s all about POWER!!! And the Liberal/Democrats want that power
regardless of what it does to this country or to the people they were supposed to
SERVE!! They long ago ceased to think of themselves as “the peoples’ servants”
but as the rightful ‘Leaders’ who know what’s best……for themselves!!
Medicare & Medicaid are the only parts of our medical system that has always been controlled by the federal government. The same federal government saw fit to transfer the liability to the state level in the name of controlling cost the federal tax shall remain 2.3%. Controlling cost by capping the amount we will pay in federal taxes for these programs, now the federal government sends each state their portion of the tax money collected along with the liability of increased cost.
Now comes the dumb’ing down of America, we need to turn over our entire health care system so the government can fix medicare & medicaid. Nothing is free, freedom is certainly not free. I grew so tired when senator Kennedy died about about Teddy’s dream of health care for all. How about putting the president, as well as the congress & senate in the same health care they wish to give us! While we are at it we can cease all retirement plans for executive branch and throw them in to social security at the same time. Where is the service in public service? Next will be to remove “in God we trust” from our currency. I am afraid really afraid for the first time in 50+ years!!!

The government has no right to have anything to do with our medical treatment in any form. I am totally appalled at what this administration is trying to do to our wonderful, capitalistic, democratic nation!!! Obama knows that the majority of Americans disapprove this healthcare reform. They are ignoring the fact that TORT reform is what is needed. Fact is 20% of the health care today is for malpractice insurance that is passed down. Democrats are not going to consider TORT reform since attorneys are supporting the democrats. The democrats are only bandaiding the problem. Reform needs to get to the root of the problem of cost and if they don’t do that then it is another botched up bill at the expense of the taxpayer. Americans need to wake up and get out in great numbers to block this bill every way they can. The organizations against Obamacare need soldiers.
If this health care plan is such a good deal, why all the secrecy? These Democrats should be be up front pounding their chests and showing all Americans exactly why this is good for all of us, disclosing all the details and why we should be in favor of this. Let us see it before they vote.

The only reason for health care reform is to socialize the United States. Every single Senator and every Representative that has voted for any part of this atrocity should be arrested and tried for High Treason, after being found guilty the only JUST punishment would be a PUBLIC hanging. This goes for the current administration as well.
What would I say in a secret meeting with Obama and Senate and House leaders about a Health Czar?
I would remind them that “Czars” are NOT found in the Constitution and that We The People don’t take kindly to unelected and unaccountable people trying to exert authority over us. We call them tyrants.
Patriots have faced down tyrants before, and it doesn’t end nicely for the tyrant. We’ll do it again if they make it necessary.

They are recognizable… they vote for and support communist/socialist laws and legislation and big government and bureaucracy. COMMUNISM CREATES POVERTY AND SUFFERING FOR THE PEOPLE AND WEALTH AND POWER FOR EVIL RULERS. America is not being conquered by bombs and bullets, AMERICA IS BEING STOLEN BY cunning, sly, thieving scam-artists, CON MEN WHO ARE MASTERS AT MANIPULATING MONEY AND THE ECONOMY. They plan to own and control everyone and everything in America and the entire world. They are power hungry megalomaniacs who are very good at deception and posing as our “best friends” and “helpers” while secretly, stealthily and steadily working against the freedoms that made America prosperous. Where have all the jobs gone, where have all the businesses gone, where have all the industries gone? Let this Health Care thing die…it is a true work of futility since the final ramifications will hurt countless citizens and our kids and grandkids and on and on will be paying dearly and many will rue the leadership that has created such a heavy burden. Stop this thing before it’s too late!!!!
Isn’t someone going to do something?
I believe this administration’s main goal is to bring all Americans to our knees, so there is no longer any entity remaining but the federal government. The same government that has proven it is and have never been able to do anything with fiscal responsibility should never be involved with making decisions about America’s healthcare. We still have the best system on this planet.
I have no faith in a government-run anything. Generally, it’s a case of too many chiefs and not enough Indians, as the saying goes. One thing, on this health care fiasco is, doesn’t anyone in Congress notice that the general population doesn’t want it?
What the people deserve, but we won’t receive given the highly partisan politics being employed in Washington now, is a blend of ideas from both sides.
- Exchanges, yes, but not a federal one - run by the states or a regional exchange run by several states which CHOOSE to collaborate.
- HHS should publish consumer information and rate policies and insurers should need to publish data about their coverages in a consistent manner which HHS can determine. But they shouldn’t dictate anything beyond what minimum coverages are for a catastrophic only policy.
- IF there is a mandate, and I can see the argument for one, we all pay for the uninsured in increased prices for services and premiums. IF we have a mandate - it should be only for a minimum catastrophic policy, you can choose better more complete coverage - but shouldn’t be forced. Then the worst financial exposure someone would have is a high deductible amount.
- The medicare agency under SSA needs to increase the number of residency slots so we “grow” more doctors. They’ve kept the number the same for 20 years. Yes the gov’t controls our residency program…
- The truth is, you could confiscate every nickle of income from the high earners, taking everything over $250,000 and you still CAN’T pay for this program. Be honest about what it’s going to cost, and fairly distribute it the costs. Nancy was honest on PBS program a few months ago, “A VAT will play into this…” Understand that is what we will have, a value added tax on all goods and services. Euro-zone pays 17%.
- We have to provide some subsidies for low income, but make it very graduated, so there aren’t any “cliffs” that people suddenly fall off of in terms of loosing a chunk of benefits if they increase their income - no big disincentives for improving oneself.
- Give individuals the right to buy insurance across state lines, and extend to them the same tax credit that employers get.
- Allow high deductible catastrophic only plans…if people have been responsible and have set aside a nest egg to cover expenses up to the deductible amount don’t penalize them for being responsible. They’re overall costs will be lower during the period that they don’t have a major illness.
- Embrace Health Spending Accounts, and subsidies should be paid into these and allow individuals to purchase their coverage. It makes costs more visible and consumers more aware of health costs.
- Don’t gut Medicare.
- Tort reform. There must be tort reform. Look at the huge success in Texas…let’s not ignore what’s working.
Maybe these boys & girls in congress should join the circus, for they’re acting like a bunch of clowns.
For the first time in my adult life(and I’m 60 yrs old) I am afraid for this country. This administration is taking away our freedoms so fast we don’t know what to respond to first. Health care isn’t about our health. It’s about power over our lives. If they control that (the right to decide what we can and cannot do with our bodies)that is the ultimate control over someone. What in the world are our congressman thinking? They have lost their way. Where is our news media? This administration has socialists.marxists and communist leaning advisors, especially the czars who answer to no one but him. Are our democratic congressman blind, deaf and dumb? Or do they all hold the same views as the administration? I’m in shock is all I can say. Someone better start waking up,they don’t pay any attention to any of us.
The Obama administration and the democratic leadership is depleting the wealth and undermining the promise of the United States. Obama is violating the Constitution and our founding documents. He is negating the liberties bequeathed to us by the founding fathers and preserved by generations of Americans . If Obama, along with corrupt , elitist politicians, continue with their policies, the United States can become like Haiti. Historically, Haiti was rich in natural resources, but stripped of its riches by Europeans and improverished by corrupt politicians. Nothing should be taken for granted with regard to what our fate will be when legislation called “Stimulus” is really “Stealulus” , “health care reform” is really government take over of 1/6th of our economy and enemy combatants are treated as U.S. citizens.

What is it about these Dam-o-crats are they just stupid and don’t understand that we don’t want them screwing up the system (fix it, do not overhaul it) or are they selectively deaf to the wants of the people. The President of The United States should NEVER bow to another country. It has never been done by any other President until this pseudo-president we now have.

It is about taking away from one group of Americans to give to another group. You hear very little about the 1/2 financing being done on the backs of the seniors or disabled (Medicare cuts), but folks if you do not fall in one of these categories, or have family that does, hold on because you will get there. Your only choice to stop from being a senior one day is to die prematurely. This effects EVERY American. The devil is in the details and we Americans will never really see those details debated, nor will the senators and congressman even be given time to read the final bill, if they so choose.
